Alfie Departs

Alfie was put to sleep today.  He had a huge tumor and respiratory issues.  He was a little over 2 years 4 months old rattie boy.  He was a rambunctious rat man who liked to hurtle himself through the door at you to take him out.  Even as he was getting ready to be put to sleep he would butt my hand.  I actually put this one off longer than I should and he was on a fleece blanket dragging himself around.  But it is hard to do the right thing, euthanize him, when even unable to walk properly he would drag himself over to you in a low crawl that would make the army proud.  Rest in peace little Alfie.

Sparkles, Wombat and Alfie Join the Village

On Saturday, June 2, 2012, Alfie joined the village from a home that didn't really have time to spend with him anymore.  He is a black and white hooded boy and very sweet.  As he was alone, I had contacted Best Friend Rodent Rescue to see about getting 2 spayed girls as friends for him.

On June 3rd, Wombat and Sparkles came to the village to be company for Alfie.   Right now they are living in a divided cage to get used to each other.  Hopefully they will be introduced this weekend!
