Peachy Pie, a retired classroom Syrian hamster has passed in her sleep. She was a spry old gal that delighted in sending me into fits by stumbling around groggily on some days and then running around in her cage and wheel on others. At 2 years, 11 months, it is not surprising she passed and to those that don't understand how the little ones touch our lives, it may seem rather silly to mourn the loss of a rodent.
As a classroom hamster she was a part of many lives and I was glad to be able to take her in.
