Betsy Leaves for the Bridge

Betsy was helped to the bridge today. Her tumors were just taking too much out of her. Betsy is a second chance little girl in that she was taken to the Washington County Animal Shelter with several other ratties. They do not keep rats there so thanks to a friend that stepped in, these ratties were saved from being put to sleep. It was unknown exactly how old Betsy was. She is survived by her two "sisters" that she came with, Gretta and Hannah. Be free little one.

Epi Joins Vermin Village

Little mouse girl Epi joins Vermin Village. She is a pink eyed white (PEW) mouse. And she is one chunky girl! She loves her wheel, her blocks and not being picked up.

Welcome to Vermin Village silly girl!

Dexter Comes to Vermin Village

Dexter, a gregarious rattie boy, has moved to Vermin Village. A nice lady on Craigslist adopted him from Petco. Apparently people go in stores all the time and just drop off animals in their cages and then leave. Total jerks. She's had him for a bit in the attempt to find him a new home. Right now he lives alone until I can find him a spayed girlfriend.

Welcome Dexter!

Top Slips Away

It is with great sadness I announce the passing of Top. He was one of the 6 Corvallis brothers adopted in November of 2007 from an accidental litter. He and his brothers spent the remainder of his life together. He was preceeded in death by his brother Tip. He is survived by his brothers Crinkle, Mr. Wiggles, Brick and Brack.

He has been prepared for private cremation at the Oregon Humane Society.

Rest in peace little giant.

Sadly, Billy had a stroke on 11/20/2009. He was alert and aware that day after his stroke. I moved him to a cage downstairs so I could keep an eye on him. On 11/21/2009, I was awakened by crying coming from his cage and he appeared to be having a second stroke. I picked him up to hold him and he stiffened and died. I'm glad I woke up so hopefully he knew he was not alone. He is survived by his cagemates Chupachup, Harold, and Rutherford. He was 20 months old.

He has been prepared for private cremation at the Oregon Humane Society.

Rest in peace little guy.
